Makers’ Market Vendor Information
We're hosting our very first market and inviting makers who have a connection to The Workshop or are interested in The Workshop. We want a wide mix of goods such as: ceramics, jewelry, candles, fiber art, home goods and baked goods.
Sunday, November 29
10 am to 3 pm
The Workshop
300 Allen St., Austin, TX 78702
What we're looking for
-
Handmade work you create yourself comes first.
-
We also welcome artisan-made goods by other creators that you carry.
-
We will allow a limited number of vendors who are showcasing only services and not selling products. Service vendors pay the same vendor fee and must carry the licenses and insurance that apply to their services.
Market-day schedule
-
8:30 am: vendor setup begins
-
10 am to 3 pm: market open (booths stay set up until 3 pm)
-
By 4 pm: teardown complete
Spaces
-
Outside (parking lot): a 10x10 space. Bring your own tent, tables and tent weights.
-
Inside The Workshop: one 8-foot diameter semi-circle table and chair, provided by The Workshop.
Power and Wi-Fi
-
Wi-Fi is available at The Workshop and in the parking lot.
-
If you need power, tell us in the application.
How to apply
-
Complete the online application by the extended deadline, November 8.
-
Tell us about yourself and your business, and share a short bio for our vendor roster and website.
-
Describe your products and who makes them, and upload 2 to 3 well-lit photos (JPEG or PNG, no text overlays). Booth display photos are optional.
-
Choose your preferred space (outside or inside) and how you'd like to pay if accepted.
-
Agree to the market terms and conditions.
Application deadline extended to Nov 8. We will email decisions within 1 week of application. To confirm your spot, pay your booth fee within 1 week of receiving confirmation of acceptance. If the fee isn't paid by the deadline, your spot moves to the waitlist.
Selection and booth placement
-
We give preference to vendors who apply first and we make sure the market has a balance of categories.
-
Booth placement is based on who applies first. We assign the final spots to help customers move through the market.
Load-in and parking
-
You may park on the street in front of The Workshop to unload.
-
After unloading, please move your car to street parking on 4th Street, so customers have prime street parking on Allen St.
-
The parking garage is privately owned. Please do not park in the garage.
Prohibited items
-
Open flames are not permitted at the market (for example, lit candles).
Fees
-
The booth fee is $75.
-
You are not charged when you apply. If you're accepted, we'll email payment instructions (credit card, Zelle or Venmo).
-
We will not be offering booth fee refunds due to the limited number of vendor spaces available and our selection process. The only exception is if the market is completely cancelled, in which case your booth fee will be refunded.
-
Your $75 booth fee is due by midnight on October 25. If it isn't paid by then, your spot moves to the waitlist.
Your responsibilities
-
Provide your Texas taxpayer number if you're selling products.
-
Hold any permits or licenses your products require. Food vendors must comply with Texas Cottage Food Law.
-
Follow the market rules and the setup and teardown times above.
-
Agree to appear in event photos that we may use for promotion.
-
Accept the Vendor Terms and Conditions.
Sales tax: You are responsible for collecting and remitting your own sales tax. See the Texas Comptroller's guidance, Fairs, Festivals, Markets and Shows.
